How soon should I book my consultation and trial run?
While some brides book six months or more in advance, we suggest you book your consultation and trial run no later than one to two months before your wedding day. All trials booked will require a $100 non-refundable deposit. This deposit will go toward your trial and/or final contract fees.
Will the stylist who does my trial be the stylist who does my wedding day?
In most instances the stylist who completes your trial will also be the stylist on the day of your wedding. However, in case of emergencies or other conflicts, you may receive a different stylist. We take lots of photos and careful notes and records of your hair and makeup look so the stylist can replicate the look completed during your trial in the case of a stylist switch. Keep in the mind that we only replace your stylist under extreme circumstances.
If I’m happy at the trial, what is the process for booking?
In order to secure your date and stylists we require a deposit for your services. Along with the deposit, you will be asked to sign a contract. The contract protects you, the bride, to ensure that we will be on-location on the morning of your wedding. All final contract payments are due by 7 days of your wedding date.
How to prepare for a trial?
*Bring photos of hair and/or makeup ideas. This gives the stylist a place to start in providing exactly what you want, especially with hair. You can also send these ahead via email at email@example.com
*Bring hair accessories (veil, combs, jeweled pins, etc.) that you may have.
*Bring clip-in extensions if you want to use on the wedding day; There is a $20 additional fee to placement of extensions.
*Bring photos of your dress, bridesmaids’ dresses, jewelry, etc. It’s a good idea to wear white/ivory to get a true sense of your wedding day look and if possible, come dressed not in totally casual clothing. Perhaps wear a top that’s close to the color/neckline of your dress. This will help you see yourself more in bride mode and less how you look every day.
*Come with clean, dry hair that has not been flat ironed, as it makes it difficult to curl and put into an up-do or down do. Feel free to put product in but nothing that weighs hair down. If you require a blow-out, please inform us ahead of time. Come with damp hair if possible or we will simply re-wet.
*Provide a list or please mention any product allergies you may have. Come with a clean, moisturized face. IF YOU WANT YOUR TRIAL WITH AIRBRUSH MAKEUP, PLEASE INFORM US AHEAD OF TIME AS ARTISTS DON’T ALWAYS HAVE THE EQUIPMENT IF NOT REQUESTED.
*Please allow 1-2hrs for hair and makeup trials and no less than 1 hour for makeup-only or hair-only trials. If any trial goes beyond 2 hours, there may be a $25 per half hour fee.
*Gratuity is not included in the trial fee and is appreciated for recognition of excellent service. Tipping your individual stylists, as one would in a salon, is always appreciated. A 20% gratuity is customary for service providers.
*And if it’s possible, plan something fun to do after your trial since your hair and makeup will be professionally done and you will look amazing!
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash and credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Discover and Amex. 3% credit card processing fee is added to all credit card transactions.
Do you accept separate payments from bridesmaids?
No. For bookkeeping and customer services purposes we do not accept individual payments from bridal party members. All members of the bridal party including friends and family that are receiving hair and makeup services must pay the bride or primary contract person responsible for your group.
What is the best way to handle gratuity?
As you would for any salon service, it is suggested that you tip your artists 18-20% of your service fees for both trial and wedding day services.
